Fazad Mohammed

Fazad Mohammed presents a fresh and very unique perspective to the modern art scene in Trinidad and Tobago. He holds a B.Sc in Sociology, Human Resource Management and Development Studies from the University of the West Indies and M.B.A from the Edinburgh Business School.

His passion was invested for 14 years within the international corporate private sector. In 2013 he embarked on pursuing a new and very radical career path in the fields of visual arts, design and carnival mas craft.

He started his corporate career within the Energy Sector at BP Trinidad & Tobago. Thereafter he joined the ArcelorMittal Group, where he served in a number of senior executive portfolios within the company’s management team. He is self-taught artist, who is no stranger to our creative melting pot and is also known for his innovative concepts in Carnival Mas design. He brings to the MacFarlane family over 15 years experience within the local and international carnival industry. His love for the arts and everything “Trinbagonian” fuels his creativity and design aesthetic.

He emerged in 1998 with a private design collection inspired by William Shakespear’s ‘The Tempest’. This served as the catalyst for future initiatives he pursued with some of the larger names in Carnival – Island People Mas, Passion Carnival, Chicas Carnival and CM Productions. His corporate leanings have also been a tremendous influence in his recent pursuits aimed at greater diversification and sustainable development across the Business of Carnival.
